International Wrestling: Why we’re collaborating with Uti – Osazuwa.

Chief Executive Officer of  a Canadian firm, Quick Connect, Mr Victor Osazuwa has said his company is collaborating with World Wrestling Champion, Power Uti of Nigeria in the inaugural World Peace Wrestling Project to help fight unemployment among the populace.

Speaking inn Lagos when Power Uti unveiled plans for the forthcoming wrestling project that would take about 20 international wrestlers round seven Nigerian cities, Mr Osazuwa said that his company’s target in the collaboration is “is to employ 20,000 Nigerians in every state and three million people across Nigeria in six months using sports.”

Osazua said that as operators of a concept development company, their mission in Nigeria also included the use of different sports as marketing platforms.

“Sports as an omnibus vehicle in addition to its potential as a peace agent will also contribute toward the reduction of cost of goods and services,” Osazua said.

Earlier Uti said the 20 wrestlers expected to participate in the Peace Cup will come from countries like the U.S., Canada, Britain, Germany, Brazil, Peru, France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Mexico.Others from Africa include host Nigeria, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. Citing some portions of the Holy Bible, Uti said that “The Peace Cup is a vision and has a mission,” stressing that “it is cheaper to promote peace than to execute war.

Our concept of using sports for global peace has been on for a long time. But we are only actualising it because of our understanding of the role sports can play in international harmony.”  President-General of the Nigerian Football and other Sports Supporters Club, Dr Rafiu Ladipo,, who was at the press briefing, commended the initiative and pledged the support of his association to the project.
