City learning to play like Barca –Rodwell.

Jack Rodwell has revealed how Manuel Pellegrini is working to give Manchester City a ‘Nou’ look, The Sun reports.

The Chilean coach, 59, may have only had his stars for 10 days but he is already trying to get them to play the Barcelona way.

That will meet with the approval of City powerbrokers Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain who previously worked at the Catalan club.

But midfielder Rodwell, 22, insists the players are quickly getting used to his philosophy thanks to three training sessions a day.

He said: “Pellegrini likes us to press high up and press in numbers, to get the ball back as soon as possible and then play simple football.

“He wants us to keep the ball until we’re in the final third and then see.

“It’s early and he hasn’t gone into too much detail — he’s gradually drip-feeding us.

“You look at Barcelona and what they do and it works for them so hopefully we’ll adapt.

“He’s done great jobs at the clubs he’s been at, especially Villarreal and taking Malaga to the Champions League.”
