Chiefs will visit Free State Stars in the quarter-finals of the competition, this, after arch-rivals Orlando Pirates booked their spot in the same stage of the competition by beating Black Aces on Tuesday night.
Monday's draw was incomplete due to Pirates' participation in the CAF Champions League which meant their cup match had to be postponed by a few days.
This meant that due to the seeding system used in the draw for the quarter-finals, Chiefs' destiny would also be affected as they were drawn to either play Black Aces (if they had beaten Pirates) or Free State Stars as Pirates were classified as a seeded team in the quarter-final draw.
Nkosi, who represented the Amakhosi at the draw, told Kaizer Chiefs' official website that he was cautiously optimistic about the trip to Qwaqwa.
"Playing FS Stars in their own backyard is not going to be easy.
"They are resilient when they play at home.
"We will have to dig deep to beat them in Qwaqwa," he said.
Chiefs visited Stars in Qwaqwa over a year ago in a drawn PSL fixture.
"We are capable of beating them to reach the semi-finals.
"We played 0 - 0 against them the last time we played them in the 1st round of the league fixture last season.
"The conditions were not conducive that day.
"We hope that we will play in better conditions this time," Nkosi concluded.
