2026 FIFA World Cup: What to know ahead of biggest soccer tournament in the world

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, is officially one year away. This month-long soccer tournament will feature 104 matches with 48 teams competing across 16 host cities in the three countries.

In the U.S., Fox Sports will serve as the official English-language broadcasters, with some of their most notable studio hosts returning, including former USMNT stars Alexi Lalas and Landon Donovan.

When asked about the anticipation for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Donovan expressed in a news conference that this is a significant boost for the host country, setting the stage for an even more thrilling World Cup.
