An extra incentive for the second leg against Atlético.

FC Barcelona are playing for pride, honor, and of course, money in their meeting against Atlético Madrid. Teams reaching the UEFA Champions League semifinals will get a 15 million euro prize, plus additional gate receipts, and the chance to win more prize money in advancing.

For Barça, that could be important as they continue their financial recovery, though the team reportedly see it as a bonus, not a requirement, as the annual budget pre-supposes they reach the quarterfinals and no further. Barcelona already have earned 100.34 million from the competition already, a figure surpassed only by Bayern Munich (112.32), Arsenal (109.74), Liverpool (109.47), and Real Madrid (102.62). Atlético have earned 89.22.
