North Yorkshire farming family converts spud shed into padel courts

A North Yorshire farming family has transformed a former potato shed into a towns’ first padel courts.

Padel Shed Thirsk, built on the Sowerby Gateway development, in Thirsk, features both single and double courts.

Tony Sowerby said: "It felt like the right opportunity at the right time and the family hope to put Thirsk on the map as a destination for padel offering casual play, coaching sessions, and social events.

"As traditional farming continues to evolve, ventures like ours highlights how innovation and adaptability are essential in rural setting."
