David Moyes has confirmed he will remain as Sunderland manager next season despite relegation to the Championship.
The former Manchester United manager has overseen a dismal Premier League campaign that saw the Black Cats end their 10-year stay in the top flight.
Relegation put his position at the helm under scrutiny and onlookers questioned his desire to try and haul the team back into the big time next term.
But the Scot held talks with the club’s owner Ellis Short and chief executive Martin Bain this week and he has been giving their backing to continue.
